Maritime tied the game at 14-14 with 51 seconds left in the 2nd quarter but Alfred State would only need three plays and 29 seconds to take back the lead. After the kickoff, Aaron Jenkins registered a 23-yard rush, found Shy'rel Broadwater on a 16-yard pass play, and connected on a 23-yard touchdown pass to Ben Ba to make it 21-14 at halftime. On the opening kickoff of the 2nd half, Alfred State surprised the Privateers when Dawson Fontaine executed a perfect on-side kick that he recovered to set up another scoring drive. Eight plays later, Jenkins connected with Broadwater on a 16-yard scoring play to make it 28-14. Maritime's offense was held off the board the whole 2nd half but their special teams scored late in the 3rd when they recovered a botched snap on a punt to make it 28-20. On the ensuing drive, Jenkins made it a two-score game again when he outran the Privateer defense and ran in from 40-yards out to make it 35-20. The Pioneer defense held Maritime on their next three drives to secure the victory. Jenkins finished the day with 222 yards rushing and one score on 22 carries. An eight-play drive to open the second half was capped off with a six-yard touchdown run by Kristian Sapp to extend the lead to 33-21. After Keystone went three-and-out on the following drive, Anna Maria needed just four plays as Cohen found David Robinson for a 23-yard pass and then connected with Deandre Wallace for a two-point conversion. The Giants were never able to close the gap closer than two scores. Cohen went 21 of 24 passing for 285 yards and rushed for 46 yards. Sapp rushed for 150 yards on 18 carries and one score while Robinson tied a school record with three touchdown receptions, part of his four on the day. Robinson led the team with 78 receiving yards. Sam Jakana led the AMCAT defense with nine tackles including two for a loss. Jakana's ten-yard sack on the Keystone quarterback on third down late in the third quarter forced a punt, setting up another Anna Maria score.
