Smith Named ECFC Rookie of the Week for Second Time
For the second time this year, Joel Smith (Livonia) has been named the ECFC Rookie of the Week. Smith helped Alfred State to a 37-15 victory over Dean to close the 2021 regular season.
Smith recorded 2.5 sacks for a loss of 12 yards. He finished the day with four total tackles, three were for a loss.
On the year, Smith has 74 tackles and 5.5 sacks. 41 of his tackles and 4.5 of his sacks have come in ECFC contests.
Smith was named the Rookie of the Week after week one after he 12 tackles vs. Utica.
The Pioneers will play in the New England Bowl on Saturday. The team will travel to UMass Dartmouth.
