Davis Leads Pioneers at Bradford

Tyrone Davis (Brooklyn/Benjamin Bannecker) led three players in double figures as Alfred State fell 87-75 at Pitt Bradford on Tuesday. Davis scored 15 points for the Pioneers.
Dior Dixon (Brooklyn/Bishop Loughin) came off the bench and had 12 points while Adam Fezza (Southhampton) connected on three 1st half 3-pointers and finished with 11 points for the Pioneers. Tyler Elliott (Perry) chipped in eight points and grabbed 11 boards.
The Pioneers led 30-29 with just over four minutes left in the 1st half but the Panthers finished the half with a 17-7 run to head into half with a nine-point advantage. Bradford expanded the lead to 12 early in the 2nd half but Alfred State raced back to make it a one-point game, 53-52 forcing a timeout. After the timeout, Pitt Bradford went on a 15-0 run to put the game out of reach.
Eric Mattheson had a monster day for Bradford. He finished with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. He was 14 for 18 from the foul line. Evan Greening added 23 points as five Panthers finishd in double figures. Bradford connected on nine 3-pointers and hit 22 of 35 foul shots.
The Pioneers continue their season opening road trip on Thursday when they travel to Wells College for a 7 p.m. contest.
