Track & Field has Solid Day at Houghton

The Alfred State track & field team had a solid day at the Houghton College Highlander Open on Saturday. Several performances landed Pioneers in the all-time top ten list.

Victoire Kothor (Rochester/Greece Odyssey) had another solid day winning both the weight throw (14.74 m) and shot put (12.54). Both of her performances are new records at Alfred State. Her throw in the weight throw breaks her own record of 13.54 m that she established last week. Her throw in the shot put broke the record of 12.40 m held by Sheila McCann in 1983.

John Adewumi (Bordertown) won both the 60 m (7.27) and the triple jump (12.62). The 4x200 relay team of Kyle Jones (Wilson), Zach Woodard (South Jefferson), Joseph Richardson (Geneva), and Adewumi won in 1:36.15.
