Adewumi Highlights Day 2 of NYS Championships

John Adewumi (Bordertown) had a big day to highlight day two for Alfred State at the NYS Championships. The women's team finished tied for 11th while the men finished 12th.

Adewumi qualified for the ECAC Championships in his 3rd event with a 3rd place finish in the triple jump. He recorded a leap of 13.60 m. He also finished 3rd in the 100 m dash (10.97) and was part of the 4x100 relay team that finished 6th. In the 4x100 he teamed with Zach Woodard (South Jefferson), Kyle Jones (Wilson), and John Woodworth (LeRoy).

Spener Stokes (Penfield) recorded an 8th place finish in the high jump with a leap of 1.78 m.

On the women's side, Victoire Kothor (Greece Odyssey) finished 3rd in the shot put with a toss of 12.57 m.

The University of Rochester took the men's title while Ithaca took the women's title.

The Pioneers wrap up their season at the ECAC Championships May 14-15 at Springfield College.
