Pioneers Wrap up NYS Championship Action

The Alfred State indoor track and field team wrapped up action at the NYS Championship on Saturday. The women's team finished 12th while the men finished 13th in the two-day event.

Victoire Kothor (Rochester/Greece Odyssey) was 5th in the shot put (12.21 m) while John Adewumi (Bordertown) was 6th in the 60 m finals (7.25).

The men's 4x400 relay team of Zach Woodard (South Jefferson), Kyle Jones (Wilson), John Woodworth (LeRoy), and Nick Ambos (Croton Harmon) finished 7th in 3:31.71.

The women's 4x800 relay team of Mikaela Shaw (Attica), Cassandra Ryan (Gloversville), Holly Fiore (Niagara Falls), and Kelly Healy (Maple Hill) recorded the 3rd fastest time in school history - 10:45.32.

A handful of athletes will travel to the Armory in New York City next weekend to compete in the ECAC Championships
