4 x 100 Relay Qualifies for ECAC's

The Alfred State men's 4 x 100 relay team qualified for the ECAC Championships at the Brockport Golden Eagle Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers took home two titles in the meet.

The 4 x 100 relay team of Zach Woodard (South Jefferson), Kyle Jones (Wilson), John Woodworth (LeRoy), and John Adewumi (Bordertown) ran a 43.59 to qualify for the ECAC's. The same team competed at the prestigious Penn Relays on Friday and ran a 44.50.

On top of being part of the 4 x 100 relay, Adewumi won the triple jump (13.44) and placed 2nd in the 100 (11.12). Tom Lattanzi (Kings Park) was 2nd in the 10,000 (35.54.98) followed by teammate Kyle Glaub (West Seneca East).

Spencer Stokes (Penfield) was 4th in the high jump (1.78 m), Woodard was 4th in the 200 (23.11), and Joseph Richardson (Geneva) was 4th in the triple jump (12.97 m) and 5th in the long jump (6.24 m).

Victoire Kothor (Greece Odyssey) won the shot put with a toss of 12.40 m to pace the women's team. She was also 4th in the hammer throw (38.17 m) and 4th in the discus (32.20 m). Teammate Haley Anderson (Lyndonville) was 6th in the discus (29.86 m) and 8th in the hammer (33.06 m).

The 4 x 400 relay team of Angel Bresnahan (Mexico), Brianna Byrnes (Jordan Elbridge), Maddi McDonald (Lansing), and Cassandra Ryan (Gloversville) finished 2nd in 4:36.89. Bresnahan also recorded a 4th place finish in the long jump (5.31 m) and McDonald was 8th in the 100 (13.62). Kelly Healy (Maple Hill) was 8th in the 1,500 (5:38.20) and Holly Fiore (Niagara Falls) was 8th in the 400 hurdles (1:12.17).

The Pioneers head to the NYS Championships next weekend. The two-day event begins on Friday at St. Lawerence University.
