Lady Pioneers Sweep Davis

The Alfred State volleyball team earned their 19th victory of the season with a 25-8, 25-14, 25-16 sweep of Davis College. The Lady Pioneers are now 19-3 on the season.

Shannon Dwyer (Mattituck) led the blue and gold with eight kills while Grace Hall (Ellicottville) added seven kills and four aces. Kayli Westervelt (Watkins Glen) had seven kills, Lera Braun (Waterloo) had 21 assists, and Madison Webster (Corning) chipped in four aces.

The Lady Pioneers collected 16 service aces in the contest and had only 12 hitting errors in the contest.

Alfred State has a few days off before hosting Penn College on Wednesday (10/21). The game is the annual Pink Pride game. The team will have numerous fundraisers that will benefit the Allegany County Cancer Services.
