Lady Pioneers Win 20th

The Alfred State volleyball team defeated Penn College 25-17, 25-13, 25-16 to notch their 20th (20-3) win of the season. The win was 300th of the Alfred State coaching career of Gene Doorley.

Janae Hamilton (Ellicottville) had a monster game finishing with 11 kills on 12 attempts. Lera Braun (Waterloo) chipped in 26 assists and nine kills, Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga) had seven kills, and Madison Webster (Corning) led the team with 12 digs.

Felicia Webber led the Wildcats with five kills, six assists, and seven digs. Sophie Coldsmith had seven digs and four kills.

The Lady Pioneers traded their blue and gold for pink as they played in their annual Pink Pride game. The team raised funds by hosting a jar wars competition, a basket raffle, and sold Pink Pride t-shirts.

The blue and gold head to SUNY Canton on Saturday to compete vs. three top 20 USCAA foes. They take on Maine Fort Kent at 2 p.m. and Delhi at 4 p.m. on Saturday and then battle Canton at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
