Lady Spikers Qualify for ECAC Tournament

For the second year in a row the Alfred State volleyball team has been selected to participate in the ECAC Upstate/Metro Championships. The Lady Pioneers, currently 27-10, will enter the single elimination tournament as the #4 seed.

Alfred State will host #5 Rutgers Camden in a 1st round match-up on Wednesday evening at the Orvis Activities Center. Game time is slated for 6 p.m.

Ramapo College has been named the #1 seed and will host the final four. The Roadrunners and #2 Kean College both will receive a bye into Saturday's final four. In the other 1st round match-up, #3 Manhattanville will host #6 College of New Rochelle.

The winner of the Alfred State/Rutgers Camden match will play Ramapo at Noon on Saturday while the winner of the Manhattanville/College of New Rochelle match will take on Kean at 2p.m. The championship match is at 4 p.m.

Last year, Alfred State was the #3 seed in the ECAC Tournament and hosted the final four.
