Colton Caldwell (Dublin, OH) got the Pioneers on the board in the 1st with a two-run homer while Jordan Wheaton (Wayland Cohocton) made it 4-0 with his own two-run homer in the 3rd.  The Pioneers made it 8-0 in the 4th with four more runs keyed by a RBI single by Wheaton and a bases loaded walk to Steven Stapleton (Williamsville/Sweet Home).

The Jayhawks rallied for five in the 6th but Alfred rallied for four more in the 7th.  Michael Durkin (Jeffersonville/Sullivan West), Anthony Gonzalez (Florida/SS Seward Institute), and Greg Koller (Chesterland, OH) all had RBI's.

In the nightcap, Alfred trailed 8-0 after three but rallied with seven in the 4th to get back into the game.  With the game tied 9-9 in the top of the 7th with a runner on second base the game was suspended due to poor field conditions.  The teams will complete the game on May 9th if necessary.

The Pioneers are now 13-25 overall and 11-8 in RIII DIII play.  They begin a four-game set with Finger Lakes CC on Tuesday.  First pitch in Canadaigua is slated for 2 p.m.
