Indoor Track Opens up 2015-16 Season

The Alfred State indoor track & field team opened up the 2015-16 season with some impressive performances at the Brockport Early Season Invitational. The women's team finished 5th while the men finished 8th. 

Victoire Kothor (Rochester/Greece Odyssey) had a big day. She won the weight throw and qualified for the ECAC Championships with a toss of 16.42. She also broke her own school record. In the shot put, Kothor finished 2nd with a throw of 12.78 m.

Angel Bresnahan (Mexico) was 6th in the long jump (4.73 m) and ran the 60 in 8.52. Her time in the 60 is the 6th best in school history. She was also part of the 4x400 relay team that finished 6th in 4:31.32. In the race she teamed with Holly Fiore (Niagara Falls), Maddi McDonald (Lansing), and Brianna Byrnes (Jordan Elbridge).

Fiore was 8th in the 400 (1:07.64) and is now 6th all-time and finished the 60 hurdles (11.62). Kelly Healy (Maple Hill) ran the 600 in 1:52.36 - 7th best in school school history and Haley Anderson (Lyondonville) was 9th in the shot put (9.74).

On the men's side, Eric Hulbert (Mexico) was 5th in the 5,000 (16:43.49) and Brandon Teboe (Falconer) was 7th place finish finish in the pole vault (4.25 m) to lead the way for the Pioneers. Spencer Stokes (Penfield) was 7th in the triple jump (11.11) and 10th in the high jump (1.73).

Other top performances on the men's side were turned in by: Steven Campbell (Chenango Valley) was 9th in the shot put (12.71), Kyle Jones (Wilson) was 10th in the 200 (23.87), Keith Johnson (Webster Thomas) was 10th in the 1 mile (4:46.06), and Jake Hawley (Susquehanna) was 12h in the 60 hurdles (9.19). 

Roberts Wesleyan took home the women's title while Geneseo took the men's title.

The Pioneers are back at it on January 16th when they travel to the RIT Invitational. Action is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
