Kothor and Krouse Lead Pioneers at Brockport

Victoire Kothor (Rochester/Greece Odyssey) and Richard Krouse (Eden) led the Alfred State indoor track & field team at the Brockport Golden Eagle Invitational.

Kothor returned from injury and was a double winner. She won the shot put with a toss of 13.46 m which set a new Special Event & Recreation facility record. Her toss was 1.37 m further than the 2nd place finisher. Kothor also won the weight throw with a toss of 16.01 m.

Krouse qualified for the ECAC Championships in the high jump with a leap of 1.93 m. He was 2nd in the overall competition. Krouse was also 5th in the long jump (6.43 m).

Brianna Byrnes (Jordan Elbridge) was 6th in the 1,000 (3:23.08) and is now 7th all-time at Alfred State. Lindsey Thiel (Liverpool) was 11th in the 1 mile establishing a PR of 5:48.57, Angel Bresnahan (Mexico) was 15th in the long jump (5.02), and Kelly Healy (Maple Hill) ran the 800 in 2:34.70 to move into 8th all-time. The 4x400 relay team of Bresnahan, Maddi McDonald (Lansing), Cassandra Ryan (Gloversville), and Byrnes finished in 9th in 4:27.50.

Alex Brown (Wellsville) was 11th in the 1,000 (2:58.09), Kyle Jones (Wilson) was 15th in the 60 m (7.37), and Steven Campbell (Chenango Valley) was 11th in the weigh throw (12.80 m.) The 4x400 relay team of Jones, Nate Robertson (Hamburg), Mitchell Marcin (Frontier), and Trevor Stiles (Hornell) was 9th (3:41.92).

The Pioneers head to Ithaca next weekend Friday and Saturday to compete in the NYS Championships.
