Kothor 2nd in Weight Throw, Krouse 3rd in Heptathlon

Victoire Kothor (Rochester/Greece Odyssey) was 2nd in the weight throw while Richard Krouse (Eden) was 3rd in the heptathlon at the 2016 ECAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Lady Pioneers finished tied for 16th out of 50 teams while the men finished tied for 37th.

Kothor followed up her winning performance in the shot put on Friday with a 2nd place toss in the weight throw. Her throw of 16.39 m was just 0.92 m behind the winner. Kothor accounted for 18 points in the competition.

Krouse was 3rd in the heptathlon finishing with 4,388 points. His total is the 2nd best in Alfred State history. He scored 760 points in the 1000 (2:50.56), 749 points in the high jump (1.94 m), and 696 points in the 60 hurdles (9.23).

The 16th place finish (18 points) for the women and the 37th place finish (6 points) for the men are the best finish at the ECAC Championships for Alfred State during the three years the Pioneers have competed as a four-year institution.

The Pioneers now head to the outdoor season. They are slated to compete for the first time on March 19th at Juniata.
