Track Opens up 2016 at RIT

The Alfred State indoor track & field team opened up the 2016 portion of the season at the RIT Invitational. The women's team finished 9th while the men finished 12th.

Victoire Kothor (Greece Odyssey) had another big day as she won the shot put and finished 2nd in the weight throw. Kothor broke her own school record in the shot registering a throw of 13.11 m. Her toss of 15.33 m in the weight throw was just .37 m behind the winner.

The 4x200 relay team of Angel Bresnahan (Mexico), Maddi McDonald (Lansing), Cassandra Ryan (Gloversville), and Alexis Carrington (New York Career Institute) finished 7th and recorded the 10th fastest time in school history. The quartet crossed the finish line in 1:58.55. Bresnahan was also 8th in the long jump (4.81 m) and Ryan was 12th in the 400 (67.89).

Kyle Jones (Wilson) recorded the highest individual finish on the men's side. He was 8th in the 60 m dash finishing in 7.39. Zach Curran (Williamson) and Brandon Teboe (Falconer) both recorded a height of 4.00 m in the pole vault to tie for 13th. The 4x200 relay team finished 6th with a finish of 1:39.69.

The blue & gold are back in action on Friday when they head to the Houghton Invitational. Action is slated for a 4 p.m. start.
