Kothor Leads Pioneers at Houghton

Victoire Kothor (Rochester/Greece Odyseey) had another big day as the Alfred State indoor track & field team competed at the Houghton Invitational on Friday night. Kothor won the weight throw and was 2nd in the shot put.

Kothor won the weight throw which featured 35 competitors with a toss of 15.06 m. She followed up that performance with a toss of 12.74 m in the shot to earn 2nd out of 40 competitors.

Brandon Teboe (Falconer) was 2nd overall in the pole vault and the top collegiate performer. His leap of 4.25 m was his best of the season. Teammate Zach Curran (Williamson) also had a solid day finishing 5th with a vault of 4.10 m.

The women's 4x800 relay team of Cassandra Ryan (Gloversville), Kelly Healy (Maple Hill), Brianna Byrnes (Jordan Elbridge), and Lindsey Thiel (Liverpool) finished 2nd with a time of 10:55.78. Their time was 7th best in school history.

Angel Bresnahan (Mexico) was 13th in the long jump with a leap of 4.70 m, Thiel ran the 1 mile in 5:50.01 which is 7th best all time, and the 4x400 relay team of Bresnahan, Maddi McDonald (Lansing), Ryan, and Thiel finished 11th (4:43.56).

The men's 4x800 relay team of Trevor Stiles (Hornell), Umang Dharamshi (Wappinger Falls), Eric Hulbert (Mexico), and Jacob Hanss (East Rochester) finished 5th in 8:58.08. Kyle Jones (Wilson) was 9th in the 60 m (7.44), Steven Campbell (Chenango Valley) was 9th in the weight throw with a toss of 12.97 (10th best in school history, and Hulbert was 10th in the 3,000 m (9:41.07)

The Pioneers are back in action next Saturday at Brockport. The first event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
