Pioneers 1,2,3 at Region III Heptathlon after Day One

After day one of the Region III Heptathlon (60 m dash, long jump, shot put, & high jump), Alfred State athletes sit in the top three positions.  

Travis Nagle (Randolph) leads the Region III competition with 2,392 points.  His best performance was in the high jump.  He earned 636 points with a leap of 1.81 m.

Frankie Bailey (Rochester/John Marshall) is in 2nd with 2,239 points.  He ran the 60 m dash in 7.50 to earn 713 points.

Dane Dechow (Randolph) is in 3rd with 1,995 points.  His best effort was in the 60 m dash with a finish of 7.45 (729 points).

Ryan Seward (Pembroke) scored 1,609 points on day.

The quartet will compete in the final three events (60 m hurdles, pole vault, & 1,000) on Sunday in the competition held at Ithaca College.  The women's Region III pentathlon will also be competed on Sunday starting at 10 a.m.
