Sixteen Tracksters Earn All-Region

Sixteen members of the Alfred State indoor track & field team have earned All-Region due to their 1st place finishes at the Region III Championships.  The Pioneer men won the Region III title while the women finished 2nd.

Desmond Chambers (Rochester/Gates Chili) was a three-event All-Region honoree.  He won the 60 m in 7.12, the 200 m in 23.03, and the long jump (7.08 m).

Travis Nagle (Randolph) earned All-Region twice by winning the pole vault (4.21 m) and the heptathlon (4,321 points).  Nate Andres (Arcade/Pioneer) won the 400 m (52.99) and was part of the winning 4x400 relay (3:31.43).  In the relay he ran with Josiah Thomas (Rochester/John Marshall), Cody Marvin (Bath), and Logan Phillips (Genesee Valley).

Other All-Region performances included: Frankie Bailey (Rochester/John Marshall) won the 60 hurdles (8.90), Jayvon Larkin (Rochester/Wilson) won the triple jump (13.77 m), and Brian Edwards (Neversink/Tri-Valley) won the shot put (14.49 m).

On the women's side, Tiara Summers (Staten Island/Port Richmond) is All-Region in two individual events, 200 m (27.93) and the 400 m (1:03.36).  She also ran on the winning 4x400 relay team (4:55.21) with Caitlyn Hotchkiss (Springville Griffith), Jen Sanders (Arcade/Pioneer), and Nicole Lipa (Lockport/Newfane).

Sanders also earned All-Region honors by winning the triple jump (8.79 m).  Haley Witchella (Oxford Academy) earned All-Region in the shot put (11.71 m), Megan Dillon (Angola/Lake Shore) in the 60 hurdles (11.52), and Ella Donovan (Wanakena/Clifton Fine) in the pentathlon (1,294 points)

Chambers and Nagle will represent Alfred State at the NJCAA National Championships this weekend at Texas Tech University while the rest of the team is preparing for the start of the outdoor season.
