Strong Showing for Pioneers at Ithaca Quad

The Alfred State indoor track & field team had 14 top three finishes at the Ithaca College quad meet.  The Pioneers competed vs. Ithaca, SUNY Cobleskill, and the University of Rochester in the non-scoring event.

The Pioneers 4x400 relay team of Nate Andres (Pioneer), Josiah Thomas (Rochester/John Marshall), Cody Marvin (Bath), and Logan Phillips (Genesee Valley) won in 3:32.60 to pace the Pioneers.

Desmond Chambers (Rochester/Gates Chili) won the 200 m (23.03) and was 5th in the 60 m (23.03) while Frankie Bailey (Rochester/John Marshall) won the 60 m hurdles (8.80) and was 4th in the high jump (1.73 m).

Brian Edwards (Neversink/Tri-Valley) won the shot put (14.43 m) while teammates Robert Howard (Syracuse/Nottingham) was 2nd (14.25 m) and Leandro DelRosario (Brooklyn/Thomas Edison) was 3rd (13.37 m).

Richard Krouse (Eden) won the high jump (1.83 m) and was 7th in the long jump (6.13 m). Jayvon Larkin (Rochester/Wilson) was 2nd in the triple jump (13.70 m) while Thomas was 4th (13.05 m).

Travis Nagle (Randoloph) was 3rd in the high jump (1.73 m) and 3rd in the pole vault (4.25 m).

Other top performances included: Ismail El-Amin (Rochester/Wilson) was 4th in the 60 (7.26), Tom Lattanzi (Kings Park) was 5th in the 3,000 (10:36.56), Scott Seyboth (Greece Olympia) was 6th in the 3,000 (10:42.83), Erik Provost (Peru) was 6th in the shot put (11.52 m), Howard was 6th in the weight throw (11.12 m), and Steven Campbell (Chenango Valley) was 7th in the weight throw (11.08 m).

On the women's side, Tiara Summers (Staten Island/Port Richmond) and Haley Witchella (Oxford Academy) led the way.  Summers was 2nd in the 400 (1:03.49) and was 3rd in the 200 (28.06).  Witchella was 2nd in the shot put (11.26 m) and 3rd in the high jump (1.35 m).

Brooke Katzer (Canisteo Greenwood) was 5th in the high jump (1.25 m), Nicole Lipa (Lockport/Newfane) was 6th in the pole vault (2.70 m), Caitlyn Hotchkiss (Springville Griffith) was 7th in the 400 (1:05.46), and Tanzania Blair (Rochester/Rush Henrietta) was 8th in the 60 (8.75).

The Pioneers head to RIT next Friday to compete in the Region III Championships.
