Pioneers Dominate Regional Multi

Alfred State took the top spots on both the men's and women's sides at the Region III multi this weekend at Ithaca College.  The men took the top three spots while the women took the top two.

Travis Nagle (Randolph) won the Region III heptathlon competition with 4,321 points.  His mark breaks the school record he set last year and is ranked #4 in the country currently.  His leap of 4.35 m in the pole vault not only scored him solid points in the event but it qualified him for the NJCAA National Championships in early March.

Teammates Frankie Bailey (Rochester/John Marshall) and Dane Dechow (Randolph) finished 2nd and 3rd.  Bailey scored 3,819 total points over the seven events and is now 2nd all-time in school history while Dechow scored 3,471 points and is 4th all-time.

In the women's pentathlon Ella Donovan (Wanakea/Clifton-Fine) finished 1st with 1,394 points followed by teammate Brooke Kratzer (Canisteo Greenwood) was 2nd with 1,224 points.

The Region III multi was held in conjuction with the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational.  In total there were 22 female competitors and 27 male competitors.

The scores from this event will be added to the Region III Championships which will be held on February 15th at RIT.
