Pfleghardt Reach 1,000 Kills as Lady Pioneers Sweep

Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) reached the 1,000 kill plateau as the Lady Pioneers swept the Alfred State tri-match. The blue & gold defeated Valley Forge Christian 25-9, 25-9, 25-14, and Central Penn College 25-2, 25-7, 25-7.

Pfleghardt recorded 32 kills in the two matches to up her career mark to 1,012. She is the first Lady Pioneer to reach the 1,000 kill plateau in program history.

Pfleghardt had 11 kills to lead the way in the win over Valley Forge. Grace Hall added eight aces and seven kills, Lera Braun (Waterloo) passed out 28 assists and had six kills, and Janae Hamilton (Ellicottville) had six kills.

Pfleghardt registered 21 kills in the dominating victory over Central Penn. Braun passed out 24 assists, Hall had six aces, and Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga) had 11 digs.

The Lady Pioneers are now 8-2 on the season and have won five straight matches. They look to add to their winning streak on Wednesday when they travel to Penn College a 7 p.m. match.
