Lady Spikers Remain 3rd in USCAA Poll

The Alfred State volleyball team held on to its #3 ranking in the latest USCAA poll. The Lady Pioneers have won twelve straight and are 15-2 on the season.

Alfred State was 5-0 this past week defeated Elmira at home 3-0 and then winning all four of their matches at the SUNYIT Tournament (3-0 over SUNYIT, 3-1 over Utica, 3-1 over Elmira, and 3-0 over SUNYIT).

Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) leads the team with 3.93 kills per set. Lera Braun (Waterloo) is passing out 8.79 assists per set and Jess Ramsey (Tioga) is avearaging 5.12 digs per set.

During their current 12 game winning streak, the Lady Pioneers have lost only four sets.

Rochester (MI) College moves up to the #1 spot with 239 points followed by Florida College (233) and Alfred State (231). Indiana-South Bend jumped up to #4 followed by Cincinnati-Clermont.

Alfred State travels to Houghton on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. match with the Highlanders before traveling to Mt. Aloysius for a tri-match with the Mounties and Shenandoah.
