Lady Pioneers Split a Pair at Mount Aloysius

The Alfred State volleyball team split a pair of matches at Mount Aloysius on Saturday. The Lady Pioneers defeated the hosts, 25-23, 25-20, 25-23, but saw their fourteen match winning streak come to an end in a 25-18, 18-25, 11-25, 16-25 loss to Shenandoah.

Janae Hamilton (Ellicottville) led the way with ten kills and four blocks vs. Mount Aloysius. Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) finished with nine kills and six digs, Lera Braun (Waterloo) had 24 assists and seven kills, and Jess Ramsey (Tioga) added 17 digs.

Pfleghardt had 10 kills vs. Sheandoah while Braun passed out 28 assists and had eight digs. Ramsey had a team high 12 digs while Madison Szpaicher (Ellicottville) added 12. Jessica Padley (Sweet Home) chipped in six kills, six digs, and three aces.

The Lady Pioneers are now 17-3 on the season and ranked #3 in the latest USCAA poll.

The blue & gold have a week off before hosting Keuka on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Orvis Activities Center.
