Alfred State, who narrowly missed the national championship in 2013, will be making their first postseason trip as a four-year institution. The Lady Spikers join the 2013 women's soccer team as the only two teams to represent the college at a national invitation tournament hosted by the USCAA.

Alfred State has played only one of the ten teams in the field during the 2014 season. They battled Rochester (MI) College twice (L 3-1 and L 3-0) at the USCAA Opening Tip-off tournament to start the season. The Lady Pioneers are familiar with SUNY Canton as they played each other twice in 2013.

The Lady Pioneers will play in Pool A with #1 Florida College, #5 Berea (KY) College, #7 Tennesse Temple #9 Carlow University. They will play each of the teams in their pool once and the top four teams will advance to the elmination round. The elimination round will feature cross over play with Pool B with a quarterfinal, semifinal, and championship round.

All games of the championship can be viewed on the USCAA Network for free: http://www.youtube.com/user/USCAANetwork

Prior to heading to the USCAA National Championships the Lady Pioneers will play this weekend at the St. Joseph's College Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
