Alfred State Announces 2014 Football Schedule

The athletic department has released the 2014 Alfred State football schedule. The Pioneers are slated to play a ten game schedule with six of those games played at Pioneer Stadium.

After a scrimmage vs. Brockport (8/30), the Pioneers will travel to Morrisville State to renew a rivalry with the Mustangs.  The Pioneers and Mustangs battled 11 times when each school was part of the NJCAA.

The Pioneers open up the home portion of their schedule on September 13th when they battle the University of Rochester.  The Pioneers and Yellow Jackets battled last year with the U of R picking up the victory, 38-13.

In week three, Alfred State will take the long trip to Bangor, ME to battle Husson College.  Husson earned a 13-0 victory last year.

Homecoming weekend (9-25-9/28) will feature the first ever game between Alfred State and Castleton State (NH) on September 27th and begins a five game homestand for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers battle the Apprentice School (10/4), Ohio Midwestern College (10/11), Erie CC (10/18), and St. John Fisher (10/25) to close out the home portion of the schedule.

Alfred State will hit the road for the final two weeks traveling to the Apprentice School for a rematch on 11/1 and ending the season with a trip to Maranatha Baptist on 11/8.

2014 will mark the 2nd season that Alfred State will play as a NCAA DIII Independent.
