Quartet Named Preseason All-American

Four Alfred State football players have been named NCAA DIII Preseason All-American by USA College Football. Rasheed Williams (Swedesboro, NJ) & Keegan Phalen (East Aurora) were named 1st team while Nick DePofi (Union Endicott) and Tavon Moore (Syracuse/Bishop Grimes) were named 2nd team.

  • Williams rushed for 1,017 yards and 10 touchdowns last season.
  • Phalen recorded 84 tackles and picked off four passes on top of handling the punting and kicking duties.
  • DePofi was credited 70 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble.
  • Moore has seen action in three of the past four years at Alfred State and adds the speed element to the offense.

On the USCAA Preseason All-American list, Williams, Phalen, DePofi, and Moore are joined by Danny Napolinello (Valley Stream), Matt Munson (Clyde Savannah), David Howell (Greece Athena) and John Garbowski (Mohegan Lake).

Alfred State finished 2013 with a 4-6 mark.  They open up their 2014 campaign on September 6th when they travel to Morrisville State.
