  • This is the 2nd match-up between the two schools. Alfred State was an emergency replacement opponent for U of R last year when the government shutdown forced the Merchant Marine to cancel.
  • The Pioneer defense will have to rebound after a tough day (allowed ten touchdown drives and 672 yards) vs. Morrisville last week. The growth and the development of the unit will be key.
  • Rochester will have a new face at quarterback after the graduation of Dean Kennedy. Jordan Golinowski who threw only 11 passes last year is projected to get the start.
  • Pioneer running back Rasheed Williams was a bright spot in last week's contest at Morrisville. He ran for 155 yards and a score on 30 carries. He was named USCAA offensive player of the week for his performance.
  • The Yellowjackets return six defensive starters including three defensive backs.
  • Alfred St. has won five straight home games at Pioneer Stadium. The streak started in November of 2012.
  • U of R defensive coordinator Jacob Lees played at Alfred St. before finishing at Buffalo State.
