Williams Moving Up NFL Draft Charts

Rasheed Williams (Swedesboro, NJ) has been moving up NFL draft charts since finishing his collegiate career at Alfred State in November. Williams will showcase his talents in a Pro Day at Pioneer Stadium on Wednesday (4/8) at 9 a.m.

Williams rushed for 1,676 yards and 16 scores in nine games for the Pioneers in 2014. He recorded over 100 yards rushing in eight of the team's nine contests and averaged 6.7 yards per carry and 186.2 per game. Williams broke or tied eleven records (1) during his two-year career at Alfred State.

At the end of the season he was named All-USCAA 1st team and to the All-ECAC North 1st team. During the season he was named USCAA Offensive Player of the Week five times and was honored once on the Team of the Week by D3 Football.

Since finishing the season, Williams has been working with Dr. D.S. Ping (2) on improving his draft status. Williams participated in the NFL regional combine in Chicago in early March and then did a private workout for the Houston Texans less than a week later in his hometown in New Jersey.

All 32 NFL franchises have been alerted of Williams' pro day by Dr. Ping and NFL scouting bureau. The pro day will consist of the 40 yard dash, cone drills, pass routes, and the broad jump outside. Inside the Orvis Activities Center, Williams will be tested in the bench press and vertical leap.

Williams has been projected by some draft experts to be selected as high as the 3rd or 4th round.
