Fisher Too Much for Pioneers

Nine different players scored as #15 St. John Fisher defeated Alfred State 61-0 on Saturday afternoon at Pioneer Stadium. Fisher improves to 6-1 on the year while the Pioneers are now 2-5.

Tyler Fenti threw three of his four touchdown passes in the 1st quarter to give the Cardinals the early lead. Tony Fusco dove in from one-yard out in the 2nd quarter to make it 28-0 at the half.

In the 2nd half, Fisher scored two offensive touchdowns in each quarter and added a defensive touchdown in the final minutes to add to their lead.

Fisher's offense accumulated 506 yards (297 on the ground and 209 in the air) while the defense held Alfred State to just 61 yards. The Cardinal defense also forced three Pioneer turnovers and recorded five sacks.

Fenti was 10 for 14 for 192 yards and four scores, James Chambers led the rushing attack with 89 yards and a score on 10 carries, Tony Fusco had 73 yards and a score on 13 carries, and Rob Riggio caught two passes for 75 yards and a score.

Jake Bahantka (Thomas Edison) was 7 for 14 for 68 yards while Erik Simmons (Elmira Free) caught four passes for 40 yards.

Anthony Lee, Paul Leavell, and Bryant Moore all had seven tackles each for St. John Fisher while Nick DePofi (Union Endicott), Tyler Cook (Corning East), and Evan Myers (Queensbury) all had seven stops for Alfred State.

The Pioneers begin a three-game season ending road trip next week when they travel to Apprentice for a Noon kickoff with the Builders.
