Williams Named USCAA Player of the Week
Senior running back Rasheed Williams (Swedesboro, NJ) has been named the USCAA Offensive Player of the Week following a 100-yard rushing performance on Saturday.
Williams registered 155 yards on 30 carries in the Pioneers opening game loss at Morrisville State. He scored Alfred State's first touchdown of the season when he ran in from five yards out in the 1st quarter. Williams also caught one pass for 20 yards and added 26 kickoff return yards.
Williams is coming off a 1,000 yard rushing season in 2013 (1,017) and is looking to become the first back-to-back 1,000 yard rusher.
Alfred State opens up the home portion of their season on Saturday when they take on the University of Rochester at 4 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium.
