Game Notes:

  • The Pioneers tangle with the Cardinals in their first ever match-up. The Cardinals are ranked #18 in the latest NCAA DIII poll and #15 in the D3football.com poll.
  • Rasheed Williams has rushed for 100 yards in all six of the Pioneers games this year. He has 1,231 net yards and needs only 93 yards to break Cornell Johnson's single season school record.
  • Senior quarterback Tyler Fenti has already thrown for 16 touchdowns this year for Fisher. He has completed 34 passes to his favorite target Nathan Nigolian. Nigolian has 528 yards receiving and seven scores on the year. St. John Fisher has yet to throw an interception this season.
  • The Pioneer defense has been key in the Pioneers two-game winning streak. The defense has forced five turnovers in the last two games. Last week both offensive scores came directly following turnovers.
  • Nick DePofi was honored by the USCAA this past week as the defensive player of the week after leading the Pioneers with 12 tackles. He leads the team with 53 tackles.
  • The Cardinals defense has accumulated 12 sacks on the year, led by 4.5 by Sean Preish, and seven interceptions, led by Paul Leavell's two. 
  • Experience reigns for Fisher - 16 of their 22 starters are either a junior or a senior.
  • Fisher has started off fast this year. They have outscored opponents 128 to 31 in the 1st half. Alfred State has outscored their opponents 53 to 52 in the 4th quarter.
  • Alfred State is converting 34% of their 3rd Downs (30/89) and 37% of their 4th Downs while Fisher is converting 42% (30 for 71) on 3rd and 67% on 4th Downs.
  • Fisher has scored touchdowns in 20 of their 25 trips inside the Red-Zone.
  • Prior to the game the Pioneers will honor their senior class playing in their final home game.
  • Fans are encouraged to wear Pink to the contest to support the breast cancer awareness month. Tailgating in Lot 20 will begin at approximately 11 a.m. with a live DJ and cornhole competitions.
