Williams Adds Two More Honors

The accolades continue to come in for Alfred State senior running back Rasheed Williams (Swedesboro, NJ). Williams has been named the ECAC Northwest Offensive Player of the Week and has also been named to the D3Football.com Team of the Week.

Williams rushed for 313 yards and five touchdowns (69, 68, 3, 48, and 19) in the Pioneers 44-30 come-from-behind victory over Apprentice on Saturday. This is his 5th straight game with over 100-yards rushing and he now is the first NCAA DIII player to eclipse the 1,000 yard rushing mark.

His five touchdowns sets a new school record and his 313 yards is 2nd most in a contest (Williams holds the record wtih 335). He is the first Alfred State back with back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons and is the all-time leader in rushing yards with 2,109 in his career.

Earlier in the week he was named the #PioneerPinpoint and USCAA Athletes of the Week.

Williams is the third Pioneer athlete to be honored by the ECAC this fall and he is the first football player ever to be honore by D3Football.com.

Alfred State has this weekend off but returns to action on October 18th for a 7 p.m. contest with Erie CC.
