Cross Country:

The Pioneers raced in their annual Alumni race during Homecoming Weekend. Nearly 20 alumni returned to campus to compete.

Football: 2-4, 0-1 ECFC

Anna Maria scored twice in the final two minutes to rally for a 21-20 victory over Alfred State in front of a large Homecoming crowd.

The Pioneers jumped out to an early 6-0 lead when Ronnie Clark (Philadelphia/Indian River) raced in from 13-yards out to cap a 14-play, 63-yard with 7:16 left in the 1st quarter. The AMCATS tied it up late in the 2nd quarter.

Shy'rel Broadwater (Syracuse/Cicero North Syracuse) gave the Blue & Gold back the lead when caught a 23-yard pass from Wilson. The play capped an 11-play, 65-yard drive that started off the 2nd half. After forcing a AMCAT punt the Pioneers made it a two-score game when they put together a 18-play, 95-yard drive that chewed up 9:40 of the clock. Wilson capped the drive by rushing in from five yards out. The PAT gave the Pioneers a 20-6 lead with 13:18 remaining.

Anna Maria's next drive stalled and the Pioneers answered with another long drive (10-plays) but the AMCAT defense got an interception on their own 15 yard line to change the tide of the game. AMC scored on their next possession and converted on a two-point with 1:39 left to make it 20-14. The AMCATS tried an onside kick but were unsuccessful because they touched the ball before 10 yards. Anna Maria was able to force a fumble three plays later and gave themselves one last shot. What proved to be the winning drive started on their own 41. Kinsley converted on three 3rd Down passing plays to get the AMCATS down the field. The final conversion came with the ball on the five yard line and tied the game with 16 seconds left. The extra point gave Anna Maria their only lead of the game.

Clark had a big game as he rushed 31 times for 197 yards and a score. Wilson rushed for 69 yards on 20 carries. The Pioneers rushing attack finished with 331 total yards.

Brockton Weist (Harpursville) led the defense with nine tackles and three sacks. He finished the day with 5.5 tackles for a loss. Rylie Van Fleet (Maine Endwell) had three pass break-ups to lead the defensive backfield that finished with seven break-ups on the day.

Men's Soccer: 0-11, 0-5 AMCC

The Pioneers were tripped up in both of their games this past week. They lost a tough 1-0 decision in overtime at St. John Fisher and then fell 4-0 as they returned to AMCC play at Pitt Bradford.

Nate Moulton (Madrid Waddington) made six saves in net vs. Fisher.

Women's Soccer: 1-8-1, 1-4 AMCC

The women's soccer team lost in a pair of games this week. They fell 5-1 at Pitt Bradford on Wednesday and then lost 7-0 in their final non-conference game of the year at the University of Rochester.

Maggie Meyer (Red Creek) scored the first goal of the game vs. Bradford but the Panthers rallied for the victory.

Swimming & Diving

The swimming and diving team wrapped up the preseason with their annual Blue & Gold/Alumni Meet on Saturday. The team opens up the season on Saturday when they host Penn State Behrend.

Volleyball: 7-8, 0-3 AMCC

Kiara Perkins (Coudersport, PA) had a big night as she led the volleyball team to a 3-1 victory at Medaille in their only action of the week. The Pioneers dropped the first set 11-25 but rallied to win the next three 25-16, 25-16, 26-24.

Perkins finished the day with 21 kills (.280 hitting percentage) and 18 digs. Alyssa Fox (Letchworth) finished with 10 kills and 16 digs, Jordan McCooey (Horseheads) passed out 40 assists, and Jordan Stauffeneker (Lansing) collected 12 digs. VanDuyne had a solid all around game finishing with six kills, six service aces, and five digs.
