Men's Basketball: 3-6, 2-3 AMCC

Ryan Gentile (Spencerport) had a career high 36 points but Alfred State fell 96-84 in a high scoring AMCC contest vs. Hilbert. The contest was the final game for the Pioneers in 2019.

The contest featured four ties and four lead changes in the first seventeen minutes. The game was tied at 40-40 with 2:45 left before the Hawks went on a 9-2 run to head into the break with a 49-42 lead. Hilbert pushed the lead to 15 early in the 2nd half and never let the Pioneers back within eight. Gentile was 11 for 21 from the field for the game. He connected on six of ten 3-point attempts and was 8 for 9 from the line. He also grabbed eight boards and had three steals. Josh Reding (Spencerport) had a double-double with 19 points and 10 assists.

Women's Basketball: 3-6, 1-4 AMCC

Jordyn Pettit (Wellsville) had a monster 2nd half but Alfred State couldn't overcome a big run by Hilbert in the 2nd quarter. The Pioneers fell 67-58.

Alfred State led 12-6 early and led 15-11 before Taylor Corts hit a three pointer at the buzzer to make it 15-14 after ten minutes. The Hawks built on that basket and scored 19 of the first 21 points to build a 33-17 lead. At the half, Hilbert led 37-21. Alfred State started closing the gap with a big 3rd quarter. They outscored Hilbert 22-15 but couldn't get much closer in the 4th as both teams scored 15 in the final ten minutes.

Pettit finished with 23 of her game high 25 points in the 2nd half. She also grabbed 16 boards to record the double-double. Kelsey Shaulis (Ovid/South Seneca) finished with 12 while Rayanna Anderson (Wellsville) added 11 points and eight assists.
