Men's Basketball: 4-7, 2-4 AMCC

The men's basketball team split a pair of games to start 2020. They won a tight 60-58 battle at RIT on Thursday but ended up on the wrong side of a 66-57 AMCC contest vs. Mt. Aloysius.

Josh Reding (Spencerport) led the team with 22 points on the week while Markel Jenkins (Elmira) added 21 points and 15 rebounds. Ryan Gentile (Spencerport) connected on the game winning shot with 7 seconds remaining vs. RIT and finished the week with 17 points.

Women's Basketball: 4-7, 2-4 AMCC

The Pioneers split a pair of games as they returned to campus for the 2020 portion of the season. They defeated Mt. Aloysius 72-47 but fell 72-61 to Nazareth.

Jordyn Pettit (Wellsville) had a big week as she recorded a pair of double-doubles. She led the team with 37 points (18.5 per game) and 31 rebounds (15.5 per game). Kelsey Shaulis (Ovid/South Seneca) scored 30 and had nine boards while Rayanna Anderson (Wellsville) chipped in 29 points, 13 assists, and seven rebounds.

Swimming & Diving: 

The swimming & diving team competed this weekend at the Florida International Sprint Invitational. The event featured athletes from FIU, Purdue, Binghamton, and a variety of NCAA DIII schools.

Matt Walker (Kenmore West) and Westin Perry (Canisteo Greenwood) led the way for the men. Walker was 7th in the 400 free (4:01.30), 14th in the 100 breast (1:03.23), 19th in the 200 free (1:53.07), and 21st in the 100 IM (57.21) while Perry was 11th in the 100 free (51.03), 11th in the 100 back (58.01), and 20th in the 200 free (1:53.07).

Austin Miller (Hornell) was 4th in the 3m diving competition (211.55) while Ryan Jobe (Gananda) was 5th (123.15).

On the women's side, Alina Kisluk (Hamburg) was 13th in the 400 free (5:01.24), Mikaela Snayczuk (Pioneer) was 33rd in the 50 breast (34.49), and Rebecca Stevens (Wellsville) was 18th in the 1m diving competition (140.45).

Track & Field:

The blue & gold are back in action in a few weeks when they travel to the RIT Invitational on January 18th. 

Wrestling: 3-2

The Pioneers are back in action on January 11th when they travel to Brockport for a tri-match. They take on the hosts and Pitt-Bradford.
