Bathgate and Perkins add AMCC honors
Gavin Bathgate (East Rochester) and Kiara Perkins (Coudersport, PA) have been named AMCC Players of Week for their respective sports. Yesterday, the pair was named the Alfred State Athletes of the Week.
Bathgate was named the AMCC men's cross country athlete of the week after winning the title at the Daniel Walker Invitational hosted by Buffalo State. He finished the 5k race in 16:38.07 (5:21.3 per mile).
Perkins was key for the Pioneers in 3-0 week on the volleyball court. For the week, she recorded a team high 30 kills, 15 service aces, and 15 digs. Against Wells she recorded eight kills and seven aces; against Cazenovia she picked up 13 kills, three aces, and six digs; and against Houghton she earned nine kills, five aces, and five digs.
Bathgate and the cross country will be back on the course on September 18th as they host the Gary Moore Invitational while Perkins and the volleyball team head to Hartwick on Sunday for a tri-match with the Hawks and Cazenovia.
