 Week in Review:

Men's Basketball: 6-9, 2-5 AMCC

The Pioneers beat Medaille 95-73 but lost to Pitt.-Greensburg 75-70. 

Josh Reding recorded his second consecutive 20-point game and 13th game scoring in double figures against Medaille. He went three-for-three in three-pointers and seven-for-eight in free throws, had seven rebounds and two steals. Against Pitt. Greensburg he recorded his 14th double digit game with 17 points.

Women's Basketball: 7-5, 4-1 AMCC

After almost two weeks of no competition due to Covid three Pioneers scored in double digits in their 74-61 loss to the Pitt. Greensburg. Skylar Shaulis led the team with 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Maisy Booth made her Alfred State debut and scored 16 points with six rebounds and two assists. My'ana Davis added 15 points, four rebounds and four assists.

Wrestling: 7-3

The Alfred State wrestling team finished third and had nine Pioneers on the podium for All-Conference honors at the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference Championship.

Justin Smith and Mike Galton became the first conference finalists in program history. They were both runner-ups at 157 and 174 respectively.

Men's Swimming and Diving: 6-0

Kellen Fletcher broke two pool records in the Pioneers tri-meet sweep at Utica College.

The men remain undefeated after beating Utica 184-24 and Nazareth 140-87. Their win over the Purple Eagles is a first in program history.

Fletcher placed first and set records in the 100-yard butterfly (54.23) and 100-yard backstroke (54.11) and also won the 200-yard IM (2:01.15).

Other first place finishers include Austin Miller in both diving events (158.85 & 176.50), Westin Perry in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.29) and 500-yard freestyle (5:00.11), Jazz Widney in the 50-yard freestyle (22.79) and Stuart Yates in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.90).

Perry, Riley Hoyt (Tulsa, OK), Widney and Parker Brod (East Aurora) won the 200-yard medley relay (1:39.52).

Fletcher and Miller were named AMCC Athletes of the Week.

Women's Swimming and Diving: 5-2

The Pioneers beat Utica 115-73 and lost to Nazareth 180-55.

Madison Snayczuk finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (25.68) and Mikaela Snayczuk won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.36) and placed second in the 200-yard IM (2:23.27).

The 200-yard medley relay of Alyssa James, Mikaela Snayczuk, Mackenzie Gillette and Madison Snayczuk took second (1:58.18).
