Week in Review:

Men's Swimming and Diving:

After four successful days the Alfred State men's swimming and diving team made history as the Pioneers captured both the overall and the AMCC title at the Allegheny Empire Swimming & Diving Championships.

The Pioneers made history by ending the Penn State Behrend's 16-year win streak and by breaking multiple AMCC and program records throughout the four-day Championship.

Head coach Mike Smiechowski was named Coach of the Meet for his team's success.

Women's Swimming and Diving:

The Alfred State women's swimming & diving team finished second in the AMCC and fourth overall with 592.5 points at the Allegheny Empire Swimming & Diving Championships.

Baseball: 0-5

Despite going 0-3 to Ferrum College, the Pioneers recorded 32 hits, 24 runs and 18 RBIs. In their third game they had nine RBIs and fell just short of a comeback.

Women's Basketball: 10-13, 7-9 AMCC

The Pioneers will play in their first AMCC post-season game as the No. 5 seed and will travel to the No. 4 seed Hilbert College on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m.

Men's Basketball: 8-16, 4-12 AMCC

Josh Reding and Tavion Williams tallied 20-points each against Medaille.

Reding recorded a season-high of 24 points against Pitt. Greensburg.

The Pioneers will wrap up their season at home on Wednesday as they host Rochester at 7 p.m.

Women's Track and Field:

Alyssa Delany (Hornell) finished fourth in triple jump with a mark of 10.52 meters, was sixth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.76 and 16th in long jump with a mark of 4.83 meters at the last chance meet hosted by Nazareth College.

Men's Track and Field:

The 4x200 meter relay of Zach Rudewicz-Nepokroeff Esaias Brumfield, Cameron Howard and Shawn Rosa finished second with a time of 1:35.74 at the last chance meet hosted by Nazareth College.

Gavin Bathgate is now No. 6 on the Alfred State All-Time list in the 3000-meters after finishing in a time of 8:55.34.
