Baseball: 3-19

Austin Baker (Canisteo Greenwood) was 5 for 6 as the split a doubleheader at Pitt Bradford. The Pioneers fell 4-0 in the opener and then collected 12 hits (five for extra bases) in game two as they won 12-3. 

Baker was 3 for 5 with 2 RBI to pace the Pioneers offensive attack in game 2. Cullen Franz (Cazenovia) and Danny Doran (Irondequoit) both were 2 for 4 while Lucas Cornell (Alfred Almond) hit a two-run homer in the 1st and finished with 3 RBI. Reno Chesire (Port Jervis) came out of the pen and threw 3.2 innings of three hit relief. He didn't allow a run or walk a batter while striking out three.

In the opener, Brady Sass (Cal-Mum) and Ryan Boyer matched scoreless innings until the 5th inning. The Panthers scored four unearned runs in their final two at bats. Boyer allowed just four hits and three walks while striking out eight in the complete game victory. Baker collected two of the Pioneer hits in the contest. Sass didn't allow an earned run in 5.2 innings. He surrendered four hits, walked six, and struck out three.

Lacrosse: 2-8

The Pioneers split a pair of games this week. They defeated La Roche 16-7 three days after dropping a tight 10-7 contest to SUNY Delhi.

Teddy Alvarado (Hilton) and Joe Johnson (Churchville) both had big offensive weeks for the Pioneers. Alvardo netted eight of his 11 goals in the victory over La Roche. He also passed out one assist. Johnson recorded 13 points (nine versus La Roche) on eight goals and five assists. Branden Dickson (Bath) chipped in a goal and five assists.

Tanner Morrow (Grand Island) won 31 of 45 faceoffs this week and led the team with 24 ground balls. Ryan Amidon (Fayetteville Manlius) made 15 saves in over 110 minutes of action in the net.

Softball: 0-8

The weather forced the postponement of all the Lady Pioneers contests this week. They have three doubleheaders slated for this week.

Outdoor Track & Field: 

The track and field team took advantage of the spring weather on Sunday as they competed in the Geneseo Early Season Invitational.

On the men's side, Anders Prethus (Lansing) was 5th in the javelin (43.66 m), 15th in the shot put (12.53 m), and 16th in the hammer throw (35.23 m). In the 5,000, Jacob Hanss (East Rochester) was 8th (17:16.74) while Kyle Glaub (West Seneca) was 11th (17:28.13).

Zach Curran (Williamson) was 11th in the pole vault (3.95 m), Andrew Ruebenstahl (Washingtonville) was 17th in the long jump (5.51 m).

Holly Fiore (Niagara Falls) had solid performances in three events to lead the women's team. She was 17th in the javelin (23.78 m), 22nd in the long jump (4.27 m), and 33rd in the 200 (29.05).

Lindsey Thiel (Liverpool) was 42nd in the 1,500 finishing in 5:17.95 while Kimberly Levee (Dansville) was 19th in the discus with a toss of 28.24 m.
