Davis, Godfrey, and Thiel Elected to SAAC Leadership

The Alfred State Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has elected Owen Davis (Lansing), Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga), and Lindsey Thiel (Liverpool) to the executive board for the 2017-18 school year.

  • Davis, a two-year member of the football team, will serve as the president,
  • Godfrey, a three-year member of the volleyball team, was elected the vice president
  • Thiel, a three-year member of the cross country and track & field teams, is the secretary.

Every Alfred State athletic team has representatives on SAAC. The mission of SAAC is to provide a means of communication between student-athletes and the athletics administration.  This collaboration enhances the total student-athlete experience and protects the health and well-being of all student-athletes.

SAAC meetings take place once a month and members are informed on what is going on within the Alfred State athletic department, issues being discussed at a national level, and help in planning bigger events that the department hosts like the Special Olympics Track & Field Spectacular or the End of Year Awards ceremony. Members are then asked to meet with their respective teams to share what is discussed at each meeting.
